Dr Boz graduated in July 2015 at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna.
Before graduating, she completed a four-month internship in the surgery and internal medicine department at the Center Hospitalier Vétérinaire Fregis (Arcueil, France).
In October 2015 she moved to Milan to carry out a six-month period of post-graduate rotational internship at the Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso. In May 2016 she starts a one-year period of specialist internship in veterinary cardiology under the guidance of Dr. Claudio Bussadori.
She currently collaborates with the Clinica veterinaria Gran Sasso as a cardiologist and contributes with the preparation of didactic and scientific material for courses and conferences. She is author and co-author of international papers and speaker at national and international conferences.
Since March 2021, she began a residency program in veterinary cardiology under the supervision of Dr Bussadori.

Born in Italy, Valeria graduated in Veterinary Medicine in Pisa (Italy). After a few months spent in the UK, she moved to France to train at the Equine Clinic of Maisons Alfort under the supervision of Pr.Denoix. There she entered a residency programme in diagnostic imaging and obtained the ECVDI Diploma. At the moment Valeria works as senior radiologist at the Veterinary Faculty of University of Liège where she is in charge of the large animal imaging service, she is Associate Professor of diagnostic imaging and Director of the ECVDI Large Animal and Small Animal Residency Programmes.
Valeria is also a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher and organizes a short mindfulness elective short course for the veterinary students.
Recently, she started a new a coaching activity both as a specialist in radiology (via a Web App) for vets and as a systemic and strategic coach (following the Palo Alto model) for anyone seaking help in solving life problems.
Valeria’s main interest in diagnostic imaging is ultrasonography (in equine, but also in bovine and small animal patients).

Luca graduated with honours in 1992 from Bologna University. After 3 years research in endocrinology at the BBSRC Institute in Cambridge, he was awarded his PhD in 1996. Following 3 years as Assistant Professor at Padua University, Luca moved to Bristol University, where he taught cardiology medicine for 7 years. In 2005 he became Professor in Cardiology at the University of Minnesota. He returned to the UK in 2008 to set up an independent cardiology company (SVCC Ltd) providing services in various referral institutions, as well as telemedicine consultancy and post-graduate teaching. He obtained the RCVS certificate in cardiology in 2001, the certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education in 2002, the ECVIM diploma (Cardiology) in 2004 and a Certificate in Business & Management in 2011. In 2019, Luca was awarded the RCVS Fellowship for his Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice. Luca has also vastly contributed to the veterinary literature, including the chapter on coughing in the 2 latest meditions of Ettinger’s textbook of Internal Medicine. Luca is a regular speaker worldwide.

Dr. Mary Beth Whitcomb is a Professor Emerita from the Large Animal Ultrasound Service at UC Davis where she served as faculty from 1999-2020. She received her DVM from UC Davis in 1996, completed a private practice internship at Las Colinas Veterinary Clinic in Irving, Texas and studied Thoroughbred racing injuries at the JD Wheat Orthopedic Research Lab at UC Davis before completing the Large Animal Ultrasound & Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. After returning to UC Davis, Dr. Whitcomb established the second large animal ultrasound fellowship program in the United States in 2001 which has since trained several equine imaging specialists. She is a Large Animal Associate Member of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and has delivered over 700 presentations on equine ultrasonography throughout the world, relying on creative digital simulations to optimize learning for veterinarians at all levels. In 2013, Dr. Whitcomb earned an MBA from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and also speaks on business and gender issues in equine practice. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, live music and gardening.

Melissa Papa graduated cum laude in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Milan in 2016. After a rotational internship, she performed a one-year of cardiology internship (Tutor: Dr. Bussadori, Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso, Milan). From February 2018 she is coordinator of “Progetto Cardiopatie” with Dr. Bussadori, for breed cardiologic screening in Italy.
From July 2018, she works on Cardiology and Anesthesiology Department of Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso, Milan. Speaker on national congresses for cardiology sessions, author and coauthor of papers of scientific journals and scientific abstract. On March 2021 she started Residency Program on ECVIM-CA (Cardiology) under supervision of Dr. Claudio Bussadori.

Cecilia Rossi graduated in Veterinary Medicine from Parma University in November 2016. She performed a six months rotational internship in Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso, in Milan, and after that she started a one year Cardiology and Internal Medicine internship, under Dr. Bussadori’s guide.
From August 2017 she started a collaboration with Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso, firstly working for Emergency and Internal Medicine Department and then for Cardiology and Abdominal Ultrasound Department.
Tutor in Echocardiography courses, co-author of papers in scientific journals, she also attended several courses with particular interest in Cardiology, Abdominal ultrasound and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Federica Rossi graduated from the University of Bologna with 110/110 cum laude in 1993 and received the “Rotary Degree Award” from the Rotary International Institute for the best academic curriculum in Veterinary Medicine of the year.
She started working in private practice alternating periods of training in diagnostic imaging in Italy and in other European countries. From 1995 to 1997, she attended the Specialization School of Veterinary Radiology at the University of Turin, obtaining the Diploma in 1997 with 70/70 cum laude.
In 2000 she spent a period of training in the radiology department at the University of Munich (Germany) working with radiology and CT.
Between late 2000 and 2003 she completed the residency in diagnostic imaging at the University of Bern (Switzerland) under the supervision of Prof. Johann Land and Prof. Luigi Pozzi and obtained the Diploma of European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2003.
Since 2003 she has been working in her Referral Center in Diagnostic Imaging (Sasso Marconi, Bologna) and is one of the founders and part of the team of the first Italian Veterinary Radiotherapy Centre (COV), located in Sasso Marconi - Bologna.
She is intensively involved in continuing education activities in Italy and Europe and has been invited as speaker at many international meetings.
Her dynamic scientific and editorial activity has led to more than 40 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and contribution to several radiology, ultrasound and CT books. In 2013, she chaired as Editor the “Manuale di Ecografia Veterinaria” (EV edition).
She is responsible of the SCIVAC Diagnostic Imaging Group, Master of the SCIVAC Ultrasound and CT Course and Lecturer many diagnostic imaging courses in Italy and Europe. She was Lecture at the Radiology Department of Pennsylvania Veterinary Faculty, University of Bern (CH) and University of Murdoch (WA), at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Pisa, Torino and Teramo (Italy).
Between 2006 and 2009, she was President of the European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (EAVDI) and between 2010 and 2013, President of the Italian small animal Association (SCIVAC).
In 2014, Federica Rossi received the prestigious carrier award “Fortunato Rao” from the Veterinarian Italian Council.
In 2017, she obtained the Academic Professorship Habilitation and in 2018 the ECVDI qualification in Radiation Oncology (Add-on).
Dr. Rossi’s main interests are Computed Tomography, Abdominal Ultrasound, Imaging in Oncology, with special research field regarding the application of ultrasound contrast media in small animals, and interventional radiology.

Susanne Stieger-Vanegas received her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria in 1995. Afterwards Dr. Stieger-Vanegas worked part time as a practioner in a small animal clinic in Vienna before she completed a doctoral thesis about gallbladder disease in dogs at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria. Following her graduate time, she completed a combined diagnostic imaging residency at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria and the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2001. Following her residency, she worked as a lecturer at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala, Sweden. From 2003 to 2007 she performed a PhD focused on ultrasound imaging of tumor angiogenesis and using ultrasound to enhance the vascular permeability in the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine and in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Davis. From 2009-2015 she was an Assistant Professor and since 2015 she is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University in Corvallis, USA. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, written several book chapters focused on imaging, and lectured both nationally and internationally. She is training residents and young radiologists, performs clinical research and teaches veterinary students. She is recipient of the Camden endowed Professor in Radiology. Her clinical research interests include cancer imaging, thoracic and abdominal CT imaging in small animals and New World camelids. Outside of the veterinary world, Susanne enjoys spending time outside and especially in the mountains including skiing in the winter, and hiking in the summer.

Graduated at the University of Milan, she obtained the title of PhD in 2001 with a thesis on 'Echocardiographic study in Standardbred racehorses', and then Research fellow with a project entitled 'Use of tests on high-speed treadmill for the evaluation of the causes of poor athletic performance related to diseases of the respiratory system in young racing horses in training'. Assistant Professor from 2003 to 2020, she is currently Associate Professor at the University of Milan. She carries out teaching, clinical and research activities in the field of Equine internal medicine and sports medicine for horses at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Milan. She is a lecturer at the School of Specialization in Medicine and Surgery of the Horse at the University of Milan. She is author of numerous publications, invited speaker at national and international conferences, member of the Editorial board of Frontiers in Veterinary Science - Comparative and Clinical Medicine, Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, Animals, and reviewer for several international veterinary journals.
